The first shared dog of the household
In 2019, Paolo Maria and Linda Maria welcomed their first puppy together, Clio.
She arrived not merely as a pet, but as a new presence in the life they were building together. With her came movement, curiosity, humour, and that unmistakable way in which a dog quietly rearranges the house without ever asking permission.
There is often something deeply revealing about the first dog a couple receives into their shared life. It is never only about companionship. It is also about trust, rhythm and the making of a home that breathes through more than human concerns.
In that sense, Clio belongs not only to memory, but to the shaping of a household. She is part of the lived continuity of the family, not by symbolism, but by daily presence.

A second rhythm, a fuller harmony
In 2023, Paolo Maria and Linda Maria decided to welcome a second Havanese into the house: Paco.
If the first dog alters the rhythm of a home, the second changes its harmony. Paco entered a world already inhabited by affection, habit and territory, and became part of it with his own distinct character.
Where there are two dogs, there is not simply more movement. There is relationship, exchange, contrast, play and companionship. Paco brought his own temperament, his own energy, his own way of belonging.
Together, Paco and Clio do not represent a theme. They represent a truth: that domestic life is made not only of names, duties, projects and memory, but also of warmth, spontaneity and the kind of closeness that restores proportion to serious things.
The inner climate of a house
A house is also made of affection.
A family website of this kind naturally speaks of continuity, stewardship, memory and responsibility. Yet no house remains real if it is described only through its formal dimensions. It must also be understood through the life that fills it. Paco and Clio belong to that life. They remind us that order is not coldness, and that tenderness, too, belongs to dignity.
Affection and reality
Dogs do not stand outside family life.
They enter its centre in a different language. They ask for care, patience, constancy and attention. In return, they give something that cannot be organised into categories: nearness without calculation, fidelity without rhetoric and joy without self-consciousness.
This is why their place on this site is neither casual nor excessive. It is simply honest.

To speak of Clio and Paco is, in a quieter way, also to speak of Paolo Maria and Linda Maria, and of the kind of house they have chosen to inhabit.
A house where seriousness is not hardness. A house where order is not coldness. A house where continuity is lived not only through memory and responsibility, but also through care for the beings who share daily life within it.
Clio and Paco belong to the present life of the family just as surely as books, conversations, work, silence, hospitality and routine do.
